Miklat is a wonderful place for a struggling addict to start their journey into recovery. Their treatment centre has a perfect balance of programing and recreation. The staff at Miklat make you feel like a friend, not a client. The location of Miklat is perfect your very close to town, everything you need for essentials is with in walking distance (gym, supermarkets etc) but your also far enough outside of town that you can adventure through some beautiful trails right down to the ocean. I have had the pleasure of being at Miklat and it has changed my life. I will forever be grateful too all the amazing staff and the house dog Kierra, that made my stay unforgettable. Miklat recovery saves lives plain and simple. It gives people a program that gives them the tools and supports needed to start recovery and build a foundation to succeed and overcome addiction, if they’re willing to put in the effort and decide to take advantage of the opportunities provided. The counselors and support workers care deeply about what they do and want to see each and every client succeed. In addition to a 90 day residential treatment program, Miklat also offer a second stage clean and sober living house available where clients can receive additional support and have an opportunity to build on their recovery for up to 18 months after completion of the 90 day program. I will be forever grateful for Miklat for not only saving my life but giving me skills and opportunities I didn’t know possible.

Miklat is a wonderful environment for the healing journey from drugs and alcohol. The 90 day program (with option of second stage) provides the support and proper duration to stand a fighting chance against addiction. The staff is amazing and really seem to care about the individuals, the house is lovely and close to trails and rec centre. The structure of the program is demanding enough, but also allows down time for reflection and physical activities. Miklat is a small group that allows for great connection and accountability. I highly recommend.

"The Gift"

I wish I could bottle and give away the experience and radical life change that was gifted to me during my 3 month adventure at Miklat. When I arrived I was skeptical and doubtful, but more importantly I was desperate. It was through absolute brokenness that I began some of the most difficult work I’ve ever embarked upon. By the time I left to re-enter my world back home, something had changed — I had changed. The program promises to work if we promise to work the program. I did… and it did. My life has radically changed. I am free from my many addictions and so much more. I have found a new freedom and happiness, self-seeking has slipped away. My whole attitude and outlook on life has changed. I could go on…

"A great place to recover..."

Miklat House is a great place to recover, the staff is excellent they really care. There are a lot of opportunities for extra curricular activities plus there is a rec center nearby with excellent facilities ( that has truly been a godsend to me during my recovery as I got back into lifting weights during my time here) I had been to treatment once before and Miklat was FAR better then the place I went to. The staff really cares about you here rather then just showing up to work. I have had the opportunity to really connect with them and they have encouraged me…I’m growing into the person I want to be rather then the person I thought I was.
